I'm Eric... a guy in East Tennessee who smokes a few cigars a week on the porch and got tired of reviews that never met a cigar they didn't like.

This site has no relationships with cigar companies to protect. That's the point. I buy at retail like you do, I smoke it like you would... sometimes with full attention down by the creek, sometimes half-distracted... and I write down what actually happened, including the relights, the tongue bite, and the ones I put down two-thirds in.

One thing worth saying up front: this is one palate. Mine. When I call a cigar harsh or flat or not worth the money, I'm telling you what it did to me, on my porch, that night. You could smoke the same stick and love it, and neither of us would be wrong. What I can promise is that I'm the same guy across every review... so if you disagree with me twice, you know which way to adjust everything else I write.

Coverage here is never for sale. No review-for-product deals, no sponsored scores, no preview approval, ever. Every review wears a badge showing where the stick came from... my money, a steal, a friend's gift... and every verdict is judged at street price, not what I happened to pay. As of launch, every review on this site was bought with my own money. If that mix ever changes, the badges will tell you before I do.
