GuideThe Box Buys
This is the complete list of cigars that have earned a Box Buy... the site's top verdict, judged at street price. It updates itself: the moment a review lands at 4/4, the cigar appears here. No cigar gets on this page any other way.
A Box Buy means exactly what the scale says it means: a box stays on hand at all times, in regular rotation, at the price you'd actually pay. Not "great for the money." Not "great when it's on sale"... sale math gets its own treatment. Great, period, at street.
That's a high bar on purpose, and the list below is short on purpose. Most review sites hand out their top score like a participation ribbon. Here, most cigars I smoke land at a 2 or 3, because most cigars are a 2 or a 3. When something makes this page, that's the whole point of the page.
The list
Perdomo Legacy Nicaraguan Shade-Grown Epicure Review
Verdict: Box Buy (4/4). Sweet cream, roasted cashew, and a baking spice retrohale that never turned harsh... I already own a box of these, and I'd pay full retail for the next one.
Foundation 10 Year Aniversario Salomon Review
Verdict: Box Buy (4/4)... a Mexican hot chocolate of a cigar that stays excellent start to finish, and that's rare. Thirty-five bucks is a lot of money for a cigar, and it still earns the tier. Chocolate, baking spice, peanut, leather, and a creaminess on the retro that coats you
Foundation The Tabernacle Havana Seed CT No. 142 Toro Review
Verdict: Box Buy (4/4)... an easy, easy box buy, and the next order will be exactly that. Phenomenal start to finish, with more going on in it than I have the vocabulary for. It dips a little in the final third like almost everything does... and even in the dip it's still a pheno
Perdomo Double Aged 12 Year Vintage Maduro Epicure Review
Verdict: Box Buy (4/4). I'd spend my own money on this again... no hesitation. Great smoke front to back, nothing off-putting, and enough going on to keep it interesting the whole way.
How to use it
Every card links to the full review, and the review is where the reasoning lives... what it tastes like, what it costs, what could have kept it off this list and didn't. Prices quoted in reviews are street prices as of the review date; cigars drift, so check before you buy a box.
And a note on trust: nothing on this site is sponsored, nothing arrives with strings, and every review shows where the stick came from. A short list of real Box Buys is worth more than a long list of maybes... that's the bet this whole site makes.
